Hi Friends, Family, Strangers, and all the above,
I write to you already processing my own internal war to publish this, but I need your help. I am currently looking to pivot in my career and deep dive into something I know and love which is sex education. I have been accepted and will be enrolling in the Institute for Sexuality Education & Enlightenment (ISEE)'s sex educator training program. The program gives a holistic approach to sex education, and is a program recognized by the American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors and Therapists (AASECT).
I write really excited, because the program is mindfully justice, equity, diversity and inclusion minded, and to be quite honest, information I am thirsty and hungry to learn. The classes included in my program are: A History of Sexology, Polyamory 101, Troubleshooting Pleasure: Orgasm, Sensual Play and Sex Toys, and Demystifying Black Latina Sexuality. I know it's a curriculum any one of us would benefit from, and believe me, I will spread the knowledge. I know I am a much needed addition to the sex education space. If you know me, you know I would love this, and any kind of contribution is so deeply appreciated because I know what this time period has felt like in pandemic, revolution, and living. I ask that you know I will use this education in service of my community and anyone who fears to whisper of their own pleasure.
Love you, thank you.
Sincerely,
Shaday Fermin
