This is Landrie but you can call her Teencie! She was diagnosed with a rare blood/bone marrow cancer called MDS one month before her 4th birthday. Landrie started chemo in Feb 2019, followed by a bone marrow transplant on Feb 13, 2019. Her donor was a young man from Germany. Landrie has been through so much since her diagnosis. She has been hospitalized more than 160+ days and has had many complications since her bone marrow transplant. Landrie has struggled with GVHD, which is graft vs. host disease, her little body tried very hard to reject her new bone marrow. Due to the long term effects of GVHD, Landrie is going to be using a power chair to help her get around school. The long term effects of the GVHD have decreased Landrie’s mobility and ability to use her hands, legs, and feet like she used to. Her muscles are atrophied and she has developed contracture in her hands, arms, shoulders, legs, feet, etc. She is a tough little girl and handles it all with a smile 99 % of the time. She does have a facebook page and I encourage you all to follow her if you aren’t already. her page literally walks you through her journey and everything she has been through. Thank you all of you for your love and support and we appreciate each and every single one of you!
