For Kris, Sabrina, Grayson and Abigail

Let me introduce you to Sabrina, Kris and Grayson. They are a young couple living in Kelowna, BC, and after several miscarriages Sabrina is 29 weeks pregnant with their second child, a baby sister for Grayson, who is almost 4 years old. This pregnancy has had complications, and they were recently told that due to placental insufficiency the baby is very small (in the third percentile). They were referred to a maternal specialist in Vancouver, who determined that the placenta is starting to shut down. So far the baby is healthy, but very fragile. Sabrina is receiving daily monitoring at BC Women’s Hospital and after delivery the baby will have to remain at BC Children's Hospital for specialized care until she is strong enough to be transferred to Kelowna NICU. Sabrina and Grayson are now in Vancouver for the foreseeable future. To further complicate matters, Kris has left to start an intensive 6 month job training program out of province. As you can imagine, there are many expenses with suddenly being relocated to Vancouver for multiple weeks, with no idea of how long it will be and Sabrina being unable to work. Sabrina and Grayson have a short term place to stay, but need help with other expenses, including food, gas, parking, and bills associated with their Kelowna home.
