On Sunday 7th September, we took part in the Tour de 4, a challenging 90km cycling event organised by Sir Chris Hoy, to raise money for the Beatson Cancer Charity. The event started at the iconic Sir Chris Hoy Velodrome and took us on a scenic but tough route through some of Scotland’s most beautiful—and brutal—landscapes.
We started by heading towards the Campsie Fells, where we faced one of the toughest parts of the ride: the steep climb up the notoriously challenging Takmadoon Road. From there, we passed the peaceful Carron Valley Reservoir and continued on through the picturesque village of Fintry. After that, we cycled through Strathblane and made our way back via Bishopbriggs, finishing where we started, at the Velodrome. To make things even more demanding, we faced miserable weather throughout the day, cycling in relentless torrential rain. It was wet, cold, and exhausting—but worth every mile.
The Beatson Cancer Charity does incredible work supporting cancer patients and their families, offering life-changing care, emotional support, and funding for vital research. It’s a cause that means a lot to us and one we were proud to ride for—no matter the weather.
Every donation, big or small, will go directly to supporting the Beatson’s work and helping those affected by cancer.
Thank you for your support—it truly means the world.
