Six years ago, I met a gifted teacher, Erica Mather, who introduced me to Forrest Yoga, a modern form of yoga characterized by long holding of positions, emphasis on abdominal core work, and standing series that can go on for 20 poses on each side. More importantly, Forrest yoga acknowledges that life experiences shape both the mind and the body. It empowers the individual to examine and develop these connections between physical and mental conditions, habits, and holding patterns. This holistic approach"”one that recognizes the intelligent body"”speaks to me deeply.
Now, I have the opportunity to attend the Forrest Yoga Foundation Teacher Training and to fulfill my 200-hour Yoga Alliance Registered Yoga requirement. I will be leaving my husband and 3-year-old daughter for a month to set off on this adventure and would love your support. The financial costs for this venture are high since they include child care and travel, and I will have to make an initial investment to jump-start this new career. Help me become a healer by donating, even a small amount, to my GoFundMe campaign. You can also support me by helping me hone my skills as a yoga instructor. If you donate $50 or more, you will be entitled to a 60 minute yoga session with me. Please support me on this quest to share the tools and wisdom of Forrest yoga with others.
