On September 8, 2022, mom went to the Emergency Department for persistent migraine-like headaches and declining mobility in her arms and legs. She received a medical evaluation and was rushed for brain imaging. Thirty minutes later, she signed a consent, trusting her medical team to execute a highly invasive brain surgery (craniotomy).
Today, my mom is recovering in the Intensive Care Unit alongside her excellent team of healthcare professionals at the UCHealth University of Colorado Hospital. She was diagnosed with a significant and life-threatening subdural hematoma. The doctors suspect the brain hemorrhage was related to a minor and accidental bump to the head with subsequent complications. Minor bumps can result in seemingly invisible brain bleeds, permanent brain damage and even death.
Nearly everyone has experienced unexpected financial hardship at one point or another. We are grateful for the privileged life that we live. And all we want from family, friends, acquaintances, and kind strangers is to pray for her full and speedy recovery. GoFundMe support will go directly toward medical and recovery expenses for those who want to go the extra mile.
