This holiday season, my family is facing one of the hardest challenges of our lives. My mom is currently undergoing treatment for multiple myeloma, a serious blood cancer that has required intensive chemotherapy and a bone marrow transplant. While she’s fighting with incredible strength and grace, the reality is that treatment has completely taken her out of work and placed a huge financial strain on her.

As anyone who has been through a cancer battle knows, the costs add up quickly—medical bills, medication, hospital visits, travel, and the everyday expenses that don’t pause while life does. With my mom unable to work and our family doing everything we can to support her, we are struggling to keep up, especially during the holidays when we should be focused on being together.

My mom has always been the one who shows up for others—whether it’s family, friends, or even strangers. She is caring, generous, and the kind of person who gives without ever expecting anything in return. Now, she needs us.
