Fudraiser for Sharon Kemp

Donation protected
UPDATE: Our friend Sharon lost her battle with cancer on Sunday March 30th.  Our thoughts and prayers are with her children and family.  Arrangements are a service on Friday April 4th, at 10:30am at the St. Mary's Catholic Church, 18230 Barnsville Rd., Barnsville, Md.  20838.  A luncheon will follow at the pavilion.  We are continuing the fundraisers planned for Sharon, as the need is even greater now.  We would like to thank everyone that has donated both funds and volunteered to help out with labor and time.  Sharon was well aware of everyone's support before her passing, and greatly appreciated it, along with her entire family.

In May, our friend Sharon Kemp was diagnosed with Stage 4 Lung Cancer.  Since her diagnosis, the cancer has spread to her liver, spine and brain.  Sharon has continues to be a fighter, and is going through treatments.  Sharon is only 49 yrs. old and a mother to 2 children.  she has been desperately trying to provide for her children through her illness, but that has become almost impossible.  Sharon may be close to losing her battle with cancer and will be forced with leaving 2 children behind.  As her friends, we are trying to allow her remaining days with us to be filled with the knowledge that people do care, and are willing to help in her time of need.  We want her to leave with the knowledge that her children will be taken care of financially.  We are working to clear as many bills as we can, and to fix her home, so that her children will be left with something.

Sharon's family memebers have been doing all that they can to be her rock through it all.  Her daughter Cheyenne, 20, and son Gage 14, are beside her, helping each day while the try and keep up their school schedules.  Her sister Karen has been a huge help by taking her to and from doctor and treatment appointments.  Karen also helps with fixing meals and to keep the daily household running as normal as possible.  Sharon's other 4 siblings take turns filling in to help with all of the many needs that Sharon and her children have.

Sharon is very blessed to have such a supportive network of family and friends, but even with this help, the financial burden is incredible.  Sharon has been a single mom for several years now, without any spousal support.  This left her life a struggle even before she was diagnosed with cancer.  In the past, Sharon was doing a great job in holding her family together, bring up her children, and paying her bills.  Since her diagnosis, her inability to work, the mounting medical bills, day to day expenses, and household repairs have put her in a place that she needs our help.  Sharon has huge mounting bills, and her home is in desperate need of repairs.  We are asking for donations that will go towards the desperately needed home repairs.  These funds will also help with the overwhelming bills that Sharon has amassed due to her illness.  We certainly understand that not everyone is in a position to help out financially, so any donations of time or labor to help with the house would also be appreciated.  You can contact either Chontelle Hockenbery at [email redacted], or Eddie Stone at [email redacted] to donate any time or labor you can spare.

Please help give Sharon some good feelings, knowing that her family is going to be taken care of, at a time that she can no longer provide for them.  Thank you all from the Kemp Family.
