I have lost 226.4 pounds. I currently weigh 221.2 pounds. I started working on my weight in 2013 by joining Weight Watchers which I am still active. By February of 2014 I had lost 100 lbs. all from just eating better. At that time I could not exercise from the severe back pain I had, and I could barely walk or stand for 5 minutes at a time. From 2014 to 2015 I had stopped losing weight, I had plateaued and whether I gained or lost weight, I was always within a couple pounds of the 100 I had lost.
In May of 2015 I ended up needing emergency back surgery and it turned out to be a complete success, even if I didn’t think so at the time. I started to become depressed and I turned back to food for comfort and I ended up gaining 60 lbs. back of what I had lost. In January of 2016 I started to focus on what was positive in my life and then on my weight. I started going to Weight Watchers Meetings again and walking.
It was in July of 2016 that I started going to the gym and started exercising and I still am going to the gym faithfully each week. Exercise was what was missing from my life, it is exactly what I needed.
Eating Better, exercising and Going to Weight Watchers and having the love and support of Family, Friends, Co-Workers and the community has been amazing and so very helpful.
With the extreme weight loss comes the needs to have all the extra skin removed. It is recommended that I have three procedures done and my Medical Insurance has only a 50% chance of covering one of them. I am hoping to raise the money to cover everything to ensure I am completely covered.
If by chance there is anything left over or I end up raising more than needed I plan to donate what’s left to Adventist Health Phoenix Hospice Services that provides amazing services to the patients in their final days and to the families in our community.
