Hello, my name is Charlotte and I am Lisa Callaway's daughter. I am creating a Gofundme on behalf of my mom who was recently diagnosed with Cervical Cancer.
This has been devastating news to all of us. See, Lisa has suffered a lot throughout her life when it comes to medical ailments, including Ventricular Tachycardia, Diabetes, several crushed vertabre due to medication, etc. But she has also endured several major surgeries and came out of them on top. She is the true definition of a FIGHTER.
She received a heart transplant 15 years ago from a generous organ donor, and has lived life to its fullest ever since. She has volunteered in our community multiple times for various non-profits, and she has been an essential driving force and inspiration to her friends and family.
This cancer diagnosis has been absolutely devastating, and has been trying for her mentally and physically. The last thing she needs to go through is this. She will need a vigorous daily routine of Chemo Therapy and Radiation treatment for about 2 1/2 months. The tumor is extremely aggressive and they are wanting to tackle it immediately.
Unfortunately due to the fact that she is a heart transplant recipient, this will need to be done up in Stanford, which is 300+ miles away from her home. This means that we will need to find a comfortable, cheap (if that's even possible), place for her that's only a couple of blocks away from the hospital, and maybe a caregiver. She will need food, internet, her TV, etc. So she can be as comfortable as possible throughout this process.
She is a simple chicken and turkey farmer, and has provided fresh eggs for the community for several years. But even that isn't enough to help with the financial burden this will cause.
We don't even know if this 5k goal will be enough, but please, any little bit helps. Even if you donate the cost of a dozen eggs, that will help immensely. We are all shocked and at a loss for words, and we need help. 2 1/2 months away from home, her birds, and her family. She is a strong person and will get through this, but it will be hard.
