Kayla Gonzalez (Seybold) is a beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, in-law, niece, and friend. To know her is to love her! Kayla has THE kindest soul and the biggest heart! She has touched and inspired so many lives with her warmth and positive spirit, especially those of her husband Treven, and two infant children, Remy (age 2) and Natalia (age 4). Sadly, what should be some of the happiest years of her life have instead been filled with uncertainty, medical appointments, surgeries, and unimaginable physical challenges. No one ever expects to face something like ALS — especially at her age. Together, we can lighten the burden for Kayla to give her more of what matters most: time, comfort, dignity, and peace with her family.

Here’s how we got here:

It's with the saddest of hearts but most hopeful of spirits that have brought us here today. At just 32 years old, Kayla has been fighting an unimaginable and rapid battle with ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis) — a progressive and currently incurable neurological disease. This devastating disease has changed everything for her, her husband, and their two beautiful children.

In March of 2024, Kayla started experiencing pain behind her right knee cap. Not thinking much of it, that pain began to spread throughout her leg. After an unsuccessful surgery on her back to alleviate that pain, her symptoms rapidly progressed and began to spread throughout her body one limb at a time.

In January of 2025, not long after her 32nd birthday, Kayla was officially diagnosed with ALS. This rare disease moves fast and in under six months Kayla lost her abilities to walk, move, ingest food adequately, and efficiently breathe on her own. Currently, she's in the ICU recovering from a near-fatal weekend that ended with a Tracheostomy to support her breathing and a Percutaneous Endoscopy Gastrostomy for feeding. Despite all this and the difficult road ahead, Kayla continues to face each day with courage, strength, optimism, and grace that continues to inspire everyone around her.

How Your Donation Will Impact Kayla:

ALS doesn’t just take a physical toll – it brings an emotional and financial burden as well. Kayla and her family are suddenly facing a world of new and ongoing needs. Your entire donation will go directly towards:

• Medical appointments, treatments, medications, and surgeries that insurance won't cover
• Transportation to and from such medical treatments and appointments
• Necessary home modifications to ensure Kayla's safety and comfort
• Necessary supplies for her well-being that insurance is already denying.
• Special equipment, assistive devices, and in-home care that are critical to Kayla's quality of life and prognosis
• Future counseling and life-long support for their infant children who have yet to comprehend the entirety of what their mother is going through

Let’s show Kayla she is not alone. She has always been the first to offer love, support, and kindness to others — it’s our turn to rally around her! Every donation, big or small, helps lighten the load for Kayla and her beautiful family. It allows Kayla to focus on what matters most: making memories with her children, being present for her family, and being able to live each day with love, dignity, and most importantly comfort. This will be an ongoing uphill battle and a journey that no one should walk alone. Help us surround Kayla with the love and support she has given to others throughout her life. If you’re able to give, please know your generosity means the world to this family. If donating isn’t possible, sharing her story and this page as well as your prayers would mean the world. Thank you for being a part of Kayla’s circle of love.

With love and gratitude,
Jaren Gonzalez and Family
