Help Ralph Recover

Donation protected
If you already know us then you will know that Ralph is part of our family.

Early March Ralph became unwell and we received the awful news that he may have a Liver Shunt. After Two days of tests, Ashcroft vets referred us to Dick Whites Veterinary centre. They performed more tests, and after a CT scan, they confirmed that Ralph had a Liver shunt and would need to have an operation to help save his life. The operation was going to cost £10,000 all in but the success rate was very good and Ralph would go on to live a full happy life.

Ralph had his operation on Wednesday 16th March. It all went well but unfortunately 3 days into his recovery, he suffered a seizure. He has since been moved back into ICU (intensive care unit). He is now on anti-seizure medication, but the medication has made him very sedated which means he is not awake enough to eat.

The surgeons have a plan of action to try and reduce the medication over time which will allow Ralph to become more awake so he can start to recover properly and hopefully avoid any further seizures. They tried doing this Sunday morning but unfortunately he suffered another seizure. The surgeons have said that he is responding to the medication but his recovery will now take longer than planned, but its baby steps are in the right direction.

Myself and my partner Amy had to take a loan out to pay the initial £10,000 to get Ralph the help/surgery he needed to save his life. Unfortunately now there has been complications it will cost us more money to get him the necessary care to help aid his recovery and get him back home to us (estimated £5000-£7000)

We renewed our pet insurance in February and went with a new insurer as the premium was cheaper. They have come back and said they will not pay out or help cover any of the costs due to Ralph being seen by the vets within the first 14 days of the policy being taken out.

My partner Amy has gone back to work four months into her maternity leave to help assist with all these extra costs.
I personally hate having to ask for help, this is why for any donations made, myself and Amor Training will do all we can to help give back. I will be running a Free AT22 6 week weight loss challenge, be giving away PT sessions and doing various good deeds to help people.

I think at a time like this it is mainly animal lovers who will fully understand that you will do anything for your pet. Ralph is Family and I will do everything I can to get him back home fixed and healthy. He is only 4 years old and has his whole life ahead of him, so I ask with an open heart that if you can help donate anything towards making that become a reality, I will be forever grateful.

Thank you.
