Wendy McDaniel has been an office administrator at Granite Construction/Intermountain Slurry Seal since February of 2020. In early December, she was diagnosed and hospitalized with Guillain-Barre syndrome which is a rare disorder in which your body's immune system attacks your nerves. There is no known cure for Guillain-Barre syndrome. Wendy has the AMSAN variant which is considered to be among the most-severe axonal forms of Guillain-Barre Syndrome (GBS). Those diagnosed with AMSAN often require prolonged respiratory support and will typically face a long road to recovery. Her treatments and hospitalization are causing a great deal of financial stress and many co-workers have expressed their desire to contribute to Wendy's medical costs, so we are creating this forum to do so.

After three weeks of hospitalization, Wendy was moved to a rehabilitation hospital. She is undergoing daily therapies to learn to use her arms and legs again. She is expected to be in the rehabilitation hospital for weeks, potentially months.
