Hi everyone, as many of you know, on Nov 2, Kevin was hit by a car as a pedestrian in Kansas City. Kevin suffered a severe traumatic brain injury that kept him in ICU at St. Luke’s Hospital for 7 weeks. He then spent 2.5 months at Craig Hospital in Denver getting intensive neuro-specialized rehab. Since March, Kevin has been home in CA, continuing outpatient therapies of speech, OT, PT and additional workouts at a specialized gym with 1:1 trainers. He has improved so much, blowing away his doctors and therapists. We aren’t surprised; Kevin is a determined and hardworking young man. We are very optimistic about his recovery but know it is going to be a marathon, not a sprint. This journey needs time, love, faith, and the continued support from family and friends.
Kevin is talking, so close to walking, and is at a point where it is time to increase training sessions and try other supplemental therapies that have shown success for his type of injury. We are not going to leave a stone unturned; there won’t be a “we wish we had tried…”!
Kevin has been getting Hyperbaric Therapy Sessions since July, adding extra training sessions at the gym starting in September, and beginning Stem Cell Therapy in October, none of which are covered by insurance.
This has been an incredibly difficult time for the Grush Family, and we are asking for continuous prayers for Kevin. If you are able to make a donation, all proceeds will go towards medical bills, treatments, therapies, equipment needs, and expenses incurred during this unpredictable and heartbreaking time. Thank you to everyone in advance, and please continue to pray for and keep our Kevin in your thoughts!
