On April 25,  my nephew, Scotty Reeves,  fell from a rip stick/skate board  at school during prom week at Oviedo High School.  He suffered multiple skull fractures and a traumatic subarachnoid hemorrhage.    He had emergency surgery to relieve bleeding and pressure around the brain.  Scotty required a blood transfusion and was placed on a ventilator to help him breathe.  Scotty is a  senior and second basemen for the Oviedo varsity baseball team and a Daytona State College signee.  His doctors and nurses state that Scotty is a rare "medical miracle" and that his  recovery is a "marathon, not a sprint."  Scotty and his parents,  my brother Phillip, and his wife Sherry, will be staying in Jacksonville for his inpatient rehabilitation. He will also needoutpatient rehabilitation to work toward recovery. This gofundme will be used for his medical expenses and to start a college fund.  Scotty is beloved by all who know him and as his aunt, I and the rest of his family and loved ones, hope to make his road to recovery a bit easier.
