Hi! My name is Ashley and I’m organizing this fundraiser for an amazing friend and coworker of mine - Monica Martinez. Monica has an incredible heart and a beautiful soul and needs all the help she can get for her little baby - Charlie Miguel. Moni dedicates her life as a radiation therapist, treating those with cancer and helping her entire community — now it’s our turn to return the favor.

Help me help my Charlie Miguel ❤️‍

Have you ever experienced the purest, most unconditional love that any living being can offer? I have—and his name is Charlie Miguel. He is my beloved little dog, the one I rescued from a breeder and who has been my faithful companion for over 6 years.

Three years ago, Charlie fell ill and was diagnosed with epileptic seizures. We never managed to get him an MRI of his brain because the costs were too high, but the medication prescribed helped control his seizures and allowed my Charlie to live a normal, happy life. We were so happy!

Then everything changed last weekend. My Charlie suffered 10 seizures in less than 24 hours, and the medicine that once kept these episodes at bay no longer works. Now, he needs a second medication to help him move forward and live a normal life again. Do you know what it feels like to watch such a tiny, loving soul suffer so? My heart is shattered and desperate.

After the seizures, the doctor noticed that Charlie couldn’t stand or walk and took some X-rays. It turned out that he has a dislocated hip—a complication likely caused during one of his seizures. My baby, who once loved to run in the park, frolic at the beach, and greet me with endless kisses when I returned home, can no longer do these things. My baby can’t walk. Everything changed that day.

Now, Charlie needs an MRI to determine the exact cause of his seizures and to see if he can withstand the hip surgery that could help him walk again. The MRI and hip surgery here in Miami cost over $9,000, and I desperately need help to cover these expenses. Charlie is aware of everything happening around him; he remains alert and has even started taking tentative steps on his three good legs. In this recent relapse, I already paid $3,200 at the hospital, in addition to his new medications and a wheelchair to help him until he’s ready for surgery. Right now, I’m struggling to cover the costs of his MRI and surgery.

Please, if you have ever known the love of a pet, help me! Charlie has always been there for me, and I want to be there for him. I don’t want money to decide his future. ❤️‍

Ayudame a ayudar a mi Charlie Miguel ❤️‍

¿Has tenido la suerte de conocer el amor más puro e incondicional que un ser vivo te puede brindar? ¡¡Yo sí!! El Se llama Charlie Miguel. Mi adorado perrito que adopté y que ha sido mi compañero fiel por más de 6 años. ¿Pero quién rescato a quién? Charlie llegó a mi en un momento complicado de mi vida y ha estado conmigo en las peores crisis que he vivido. Cuando yo no encontraba las ganas de seguir adelante en incluso pararme de la cama, él con su carita hermosa, sus ojitos dulces, sus sonidos tiernos, y ese cuerpito lleno de amor estuvo junto a mi todo el tiempo. El me pedía salir a caminar, a tomar el sol, y así poco a poco con su ternura fue llenándome de razones para nunca rendirme.

Hace 3 años, Charlie enfermó y fue diagnosticado con ataques de epilepsia. Nunca se le hizo una resonancia magnética en su cerebro por que los costos eran muy altos y la medicina que le prescribieron ayudó a controlar las convulsiones y permitió que Mi Charlie tuviera una vida normal. ¡Éramos muy felices !

Todo cambio el fin de semana pasado, Mi Charlie sufrió 10 convulsiones en menos de 24 horas y la medicina que antes servía para prevenir esto ya no funciona y ahora necesita de una segunda medicina que le permitirá seguir adelante y tener una vida normal. ¿Sabes que se siente ver a un ser tan pequeñito y amoroso sufrir de esa manera? Mi corazón está roto y desesperado. Después de las convulsiones, el doctor al notar que Charlie no podía pararse ni caminar, decidió tomarle unos rayos-X donde se notó que Charlie tiene una cadera dislocada que seguro pasó en algún momento durante sus convulsiones. Ahora mi bebe, que disfrutaba correr en el parque, ir a la playa o que me comía a besos al regresar a casa, ya no lo hace más. Mi bebe no puede caminar. Todo cambió ese día. Ahora Charlie requiere de una Resonancia Magnética para saber la causa exacta de sus ataques y saber si resistirá su operación de cadera que lo ayudará a caminar de nuevo. Los costos de la Resonancia Magnetica aquí en Miami y la cirugía de cadera me cuestan más $9000 y yo necesito ayuda para poder hacerlo. Charlie está cociente de todo lo que pasa, está alerta, y ya está empezando a dar sus primeros pasos con sus otras tres patas. En esta última recaída pagué $3200 en el hospital, más sus nuevas medicinas y su sillita de ruedas mientras es apto para cirugía. en este momento me es difícil pagar por su resonancia magnética y por su operación. ¡Por favor, si has conocido el amor hacia una mascota ayúdame! Charlie ha estado siempre para mí y yo quiero estar ahí para él y no quiero que él factor dinero sea quien decida su futuro. ❤️‍
