Hi everybody. As most of you have heard, Adam has been diagnosed with stage three colorectal cancer. This is shocking and devastating to Adam, his wife Ashley, his family, and the many people who love him, as he's only 28-years-old and until a few months ago, has been completely healthy.
Adam graduated from law school in 2017, and he has worked as an immigration attorney since. In law school, he worked for Elon's immigration clinic as well as doing a semester-in-practice with the Greensboro Public Defender's Office. He is passionate about his work, about focusing on those most in need.
Adam believes in helping people. As a close friend of Adam's, as a colleague of Adam's - I know I can speak for everyone who has ever known him to say he is a dedicated, determined, and kind person.
On April 22nd, he had the surgery for the port to receive his chemotherapy installed. To treat (and beat!) this cancer, Adam will start chemo in May. He will have chemo treatments for three months, and then they will do another CT scan - if that CT shows the tumor is shrinking, he will continue with chemo and start radiation. This will last for 5-6 weeks, and then he will have a break, and if it continues to shrink, they will eventually do surgery to remove the tumor.
Needless to say, Adam's medical bills and living costs when he cannot work will be high. Any amount, no matter how small, would help this young family to stay above water while Adam is fighting this cancer. For those who know him, they know that Adam would never make a post like this. But let's try to help him in his battle in any way we can. This will be a hard fight - but we all know Adam is up to any challenge.
