Anthony’s life is forever changed, as he was a pedestrian who was struck by a drunk driver in downtown Denver. Anthony was in ICU for 3 days and was diagnosed with a traumatic brain injury amongst other injuries, creating a long road to recovery in the upcoming weeks, months, and possibly even years. Unfortunately, Anthony has since returned to the emergency room since his first discharge from the ICU, as additional issues have arisen as a result of his injuries.
Our family is setting up this GoFundMe to not only ask that your thoughts and prayers be with Anthony during this time, but to also assist in any way possible to help alleviate some of the coming financial burdens Anthony will face as a result of this serious accident. Unfortunately, Anthony was removed from our health insurance policy when he turned 21 this past May, leaving him with no coverage. Medical expenses alone are just one of the many financial burdens Anthony will face in the coming months as we work to get him back on his feet, both financially and physically.
Anthony is an Electrical Apprentice who worked full time and attended electrical school before this unfortunate accident occurred. Anthony is an ambitious and hard-working young man, but his injuries will keep him from returning to work, attending school, or enjoying any of his hobbies anytime soon.
Our family caught the first flight out of Arizona to Colorado to be at our sons bedside on July 26th, but sadly Javier and the children have since returned home. This unfortunate accident has not only created an emotional roller coaster for our family and a financial burden for our son Anthony, but also for our family unit, as I will be in Colorado to care for Anthony until he is able to care for himself.
Thankfully, we have an amazing family who has been by our side since this incident occurred, but also amazing family friends who have allowed us to stay with them while Anthony recovers from his injuries. They have truly been a blessing to our family and have helped alleviate a lot of unnecessary stress during this difficult time. We thank each and every one of them and love them with all our hearts.
I want to thank everyone in advance for your thoughts, prayers, and/or donations for Anthony, as they will continue to assist in Anthony’s healing process.
