Our dear friend Kim is an incredible mom to two beautiful girls, ages 8 and 5, and a dedicated labor and delivery nurse who has spent her career helping others through beautiful and difficult moments. Now, she needs our help.
Last summer, Kim found a lump in her breast which was determined to be malignant. At her young age, we were hoping they caught it early enough and that treatment would be relatively straightforward. Unfortunately, after surgery it was found that cancer had spread to the lymph nodes and she was officially diagnosed with Stage 2 breast cancer, a battle that no one should have to face, especially not someone as kind and giving as her. Her treatment plan is intensive and will include multiple surgeries, radiation, chemotherapy, and a lifetime of medication and follow-up scans.
Kim and her wife Erika, also a nurse, recently relocated from Albany to San Diego with their daughters and don't have family nearby for support. With the grueling treatments ahead, Kim will be unable to work for weeks at a time, leaving the family in a vulnerable position. Medical costs, childcare for their young girls, and the loss of income are adding immense stress to an already difficult journey.
Kim has spent her life caring for others, and now it's our turn to care for her. Your donations will go directly toward helping this amazing family cover:
- Medical expenses not covered by insurance
- Childcare for their daughters while Kim undergoes treatment
- Lost income during Kim's recovery
Whether it's $5 or $500, or simply sharing this campaign, every little bit will help bring Kim and her family one step closer to peace of mind as they focus on healing and staying strong.
Please donate if you can, and share this campaign to help spread the word. Let's show Kim and her family that they are not alone in this fight.
Thank you for your love, support, and generosity. Together, we can help lighten the load for Kim, Erika, and their girls during this challenging time.
