Fighting For Keith

Keith Miner is a 31 year old Husband and Father of two little boys.  In 2011 his friends and family were shocked when he was diagnosed with ALS, more commonly known as Lou Gehrigs Disease.  If you are not familar with this terrible disease, the prognosis for patients is not good, as the treatment is limited to nothing and the lifespan from diagnosis is a grim 5 years.

Early in His diagnois Keith used his love and passion for racing to start his own foundation, Racer's Against ALS (  Through this foundation Keith has raised over $100,000 with 100% of it's proceeds going to other families afflicted with ALS.  Faced with this terrible disease Keith made a decision to pay it forward and to give back, an act of genorsity against his own terrible odds that is beyond commendable.

Keith's ALS is progressing rapidly, reducing motor skills including hand and arm functions, and more, that this monster of a disease is known for.  After years of fighting for others, Keith is asking for help for his own fight, something that is extremely hard for him to do.  But now he has a great chance to help himself and get treatment to slow the disease down, gain strength back and prolong his life.

Keith and his family have researched the treatment options at WU Medical Center in Beijing China and the great success they have had with patients afflicted with ALS.  You can learn more and read how the treatment helps patients at

The cost for the treatment, flights and stay is approximately $35,000, and I can say with confidence that Keith hates this part more the anything, the helpless feeling and seeing the opportunity for help, but the impossibility that the costs present.  I'll let him tell you in his own words:

"I absolutely hate to ask for help funding this trip but I have no choice my life is on the line and this could very well be my saving grace so I have to swallow pride. I am asking family, friends and anyone willing to donate. ANY AMOUNT will help even if its just 5 bucks. I greatly appreciate your help and wish I wasn't in this position where I am bugging people. Again if you have a moment go check out the website and click on patients stories and als, it will tell you how people are gaining strength back. Again THANK YOU for your help."
