Jen Gerber's Mayo Clinic Fund

Jen Gerber is a loving wife and mother, a beloved daughter and sister, and a Library Director in a Wisconsin public library.  By most any measure, she leads a beautiful life.  And she is extremely grateful for the gifts that God has given to her.  But Jen also suffers from chronic migraine with aura and occipital nerve damage, which together cause pain that is so severe and debilitating that it literally becomes unbearable.

Jen married the man she fell in love with in high school, and has been married now for 14 years.  Together they have an eight year-old daughter who is spirited, kind, creative, intelligent, and loving.  The three of them make up their beautiful family and are everything to each other. Jen is young for her position as a Library Director, which she has attained by being driven, passionate about libraries, and motivated by maintaining literate communities. She volunteers at the state and county levels on committees and boards, and serves in elected positions within the Wisconsin State Library System.

She is far too young to succumb to these terrible afflictions and has actively and aggressively sought treatment for more than a year.  Most recently, she has been accepted at the Mayo Clinic for treatment, and is now under the care of some of the greatest doctors in the world.  We can all hope and pray that her care will ultimately result in long-term improvement and/or management of her conditions, and a quality of life that once again allows her to fully participate and enjoy the many gifts with which she has been blessed.  However, this level of care does not come cheap, and although much of the cost is covered by Jen's insurance, the out-of-pocket expenses that she and her family have incurred -- and will continue to incur -- are not inconsequential, and are placing a significant financial burden on Jen and her family.  Such costs include food and lodging while at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, non-covered treatments, insurance deductibles and prescription co-pays.

It is to assist with these out-of-pocket costs that Jen’s family and friends have established this GoFundMe site.  We ask you to contribute at whatever level of giving you are comfortable, and  you can be assured that all donations will be used solely to help Jen defray the significant cost of her medical treatments and visits to the Mayo Clinic.  Thank you in advance for your generosity and your support of Jen.
