This is my sister Elizabeth Wagoner. Some of you may know her story and some of you may not.

She is a 2014 graduate of Appalachian State University who is known for her passion for teaching. This would be her second year teaching at North Middle School.

She had battled with sickness since the beginning of the school year and continually weakened until October 26th. On October 26th she went to an Oncology doctor upon being referred to from her family doctor. She was admitted to Forsyth Memorial due to an enlarged spleen the doctor thought was caused by Leukemia.

After the bone marrow test and multiple other blood tests the Leukemia came back negative but Mycoplasma Pneumonia was positive. It had infested itself into her bone marrow and blood cells. After 12 days in the hospital she was released. The doctors told her it would just take time to heal.

Upon returning home and every week visits to the doctor the Mycoplasma was getting better but Elizabeth’s health was not improving. The blood work every week confused the doctors. Her spleen was not shrinking as it should be so the doctors did another CT scan that showed the spleen was so large it was pressing against multiple organs and was dying inside.

On January 28th, Elizabeth was admitted back to Forsyth Memorial for an emergency splenectomy on January 30th. It was an extensive surgery, which revealed it was taking up 75% of her stomach and pressing on the liver, adrenal glands, pancreas, and kidneys. They sent the spleen for a biopsy.

As she was being discharged on February 3rd, the biopsy came back with Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma located within the spleen. They scheduled a PET scan to see if any lymphoma was located anywhere else in her body. Upon the follow-up with her oncology doctor she found out she had Diffuse Large B-Cell Lymphoma. The PET scan revealed two spots on her pelvic bone, one on each rib and a spot on her back.

With the surgery being so recent the treatment was scheduled for February 23rd. She has just completed the 2nd round of R-Chop (Chemo). She will have a total of 6 treatments.

Since October 26th, Elizabeth has been unable to teach as she undergoes months of sickness/treatments in her fight against this disease.

So many wonderful friends and family have asked how they can help, so I have created this page on behalf of Elizabeth. Your support will provide the resources for her care and medical expenses during this difficult time. We ask for your prayers and appreciate whatever you are able to give.

Sharing this with your friends and families would  a lot to her. Thank you in advance for all of the support. She wouldn't be here today if it weren't for the Good Lord and all the phenomenal people in our lives.
