I am excited to be headed on my first mission trip to Quito, Ecuador. Even more exciting is that my son, Isaiah, will be joining me. We will be traveling with 11 other team members from June 5 to June 16. As a part of the Hickory Creek Missions team, we will be serving with a division of International Teams missions agency known as Youth World. Our team will be based at a retreat and training center just north of the capital city of Quito known as Hacienda El Refugio.
Some of our goals while we are there will be to minister to children in a small public school, prepare and update a mission home in preparation for future guest missionaries and conduct a sports event in another town to reach out to the youth. The El Refugio staff have also planned many work projects such as cutting down trees, painting and grounds preparation for the 300 acres. While we are traveling to the different towns we plan to distribute Spanish Bibles to any and all that wish to have one.
First and foremost I ask for your prayers. Prayers for safe travels and smooth scheduling. Prayers for God's Spirit to move through every individual on the trip and for lives to be changed. The power of your prayers is the most important part of our trip. God hears our prayers and can move powerfully through them. Our strongest desire is that we are surrounded in prayer.
Another way in which you can help is to support us financially. We have already raised some of our funds through a spaghetti dinner held at our church last month and through donations made by our congregation. Isaiah will be hitting the pavement this month selling candy bars to help with his costs as well. This is an investment in building God's Kingdom in Quito, Ecuador. You can make your donations right here on this website or if you prefer you can send your donations to Hickory Creek Church located at 10660 W. Lincoln Highway, Frankfort, IL 60423. Please designate, "Ecuador Trip-Clark Family" on your gift.
