Help for my daughter to hear

Donation protected
My daughter, Chelsea, has been diagnosed with auditory processing disorder, she needs hearing aids, but does not have the funds to do so. She is a 25 year old with custody of her 2.5 year old nephew. She is now a stay at home mother and is reliant on Ontario Works.  Chelsea Ever since Chelsea was a child she has been extremely prone to ear infections. She has had tubes put in her ears three times with no help. Her ears are so sensitive that whenever she is in the car, the pressure changes when you roll up or down the windows hurts her ears. Since everyone now has to wear a mask, Chelsea realized that she cannot understand what is being said. She complained that she can hear people are talking, but could not understand what they were saying. She has always struggled to understand what people are saying if they are not in front of her or in the same room. If there is any background noise (which is everywhere) she cannot understand the words being said, she can just hear mumbled sounds. I know that it upsets her the most when she cannot hear what her child is saying to her, if he goes into a different room and talks to her, she cannot understand what he is saying. Chelsea contacted her audiologist to have a hearing test done. The test came back that her hearing was fine. Thankfully, the audiologist has knowledge about APD. She requested that Chelsea go for specialized testing in Ottawa. Chelsea went and did the testing. The results came back that she has APD. Chelseas doctors have prescribed hearing aids, however Chelsea cannot afford to purchase them. Unfortunately, APD is not recognized as a hearing loss, it is a hearing disability, therefore she does not qualify for funding from the assistive devices program, Ontario Works also will not help. Even though it is a disability, there is no funding available for this disability. Chelsea has contacted March of dimes, united way, and many more. She does not know where else to turn. I am trying to help her get the gift of hearing. I would love to give my daughter the gift of hearing. I am on disability myself and I am not able to afford them either. I am at a loss of what to do for her. If you can help at all, I know that she would be forever grateful.  Thank you, I have copied the definition of APD from Wikipedia for some reference.  Auditory processing disorder (APD), rarely known as King-Kopetzky syndrome or auditory disability with normal hearing (ADN), is an umbrella term for a variety of disorders that affect the way the brain processes auditory information.[2] Individuals with APD usually have normal structure and function of the outer, middle, and inner ear (peripheral hearing). However, they cannot process the information they hear in the same way as others do, which leads to difficulties in recognizing and interpreting sounds, especially the sounds composing speech. It is thought that these difficulties arise from dysfunction in the central nervous system. - Wikipedia
