Hi, I'm mom (Angella). I have three wonderful boys. Chris is my oldest. At 26 years old, last February, he noticed a bump on the top of his head. Doctors told him it was likely just a simple lipoma., but was too large to be removed in the office so he should seek help elsewhere. After seeing 4 different doctors, and 4 months later, we finally found one that would act!

After getting an MRI and CT done, doctors realized it was NOT a lipoma, but an aggressive type of bone cancer that grew from nothing to a grapefruit size tumor, in less than 6 months. This tumor ate away part his skull and has spread to his sternum and spine so far.

As Chris was a very healthy young man, he doesn't have insurance that will cover this kind of catastrophe. The first surgery ended up giving him an infection which will now delay the treatment of the cancer, Multiple Myeloma.

Because of the nature of infections in the skull, they must be fought with IV antibiotics over the course of 6 weeks. We've gotten him through one of these infections but when they replaced his missing skull, he got another one. We currently take him to an infusion center every day for these lifesaving drugs that insurance won't pay for. We are about half way through the treatment regimen while he also receives radiation therapy every day. 

Chemotherapy is the next step. This is set to begin October 5th and will last almost until Christmas,  at which point Chris will need a bone marrow transplant.

We are asking for any help anyone can give to help my son fight and live. He is fun and generous. Chris loves to laugh and loves with all his heart. Please help us help him.
