Abigail is a sweet, loving, and happy 8-year old. We tell her each and every day that she is our smart, brave, and beautiful Abigail. She loves her dog, fish, and her chickens. She enjoys dancing, playing sports, and making slime. She has a huge heart and even asks for pet items to donate to shelters instead of birthday presents. She is loved deeply by friends and family.
On December 2nd, Abigail was having severe stomach pain and was taken to the hospital. Unfortunately, doctors found that Abigail has a tumor in her stomach. A biopsy revealed that our sweet angel has rhabdomyosarcoma. We thank the Lord each day that the cancer has not metastasized. Her pathway to healing is going to be long and hard. As of now, Abigail is going to have to fight through 10 months of weekly chemotherapy treatments. We pray that this will put our baby into remission. Once in remission, she will have to have 6 more months of weekly chemotherapy to keep the cancer from coming back. In about 2 months, once the tumor is smaller, she will have another surgery to remove it. When she has healed enough from surgery, she will go through 6 weeks of daily radiation therapy, in addition to the chemotherapy to try to keep the tumor from coming back.
We have set up a Go Fund Me site because we have had so many people reach out wanting to help. Any funds raised will go to Abigail's medical expenses and ongoing care, as well as offset some of the financial burden of time away from work. Each and every donation, no matter how small, is deeply appreciated.
Abigail has already begun chemotherapy and these medications are very tough on her little body. Please pray for healing and strength for Abigail and her family during this time.
Heavenly Father, watch over our child and grant that she be restored to that perfect health that is yours alone to give; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
