Tragic Loss of Larry Kankiewicz
Donation protected
Larry was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather or Poppie to his grandchildren. He and Mom had 54 wonderful years together. Dad was known for his quick wit, funny emails and dad jokes. He could talk about anything and everything with anyone and often did. He was a knowledgeable handyman who was always willing to help out with any project. He took care of everything for Mom and didn’t ever let her know that finances were “Not Going Well.”

Nothing can prepare you for the unexpected loss of a loved one. My sister and I lost our Dad, but our Mom lost so much more. She lost her Husband, her Best Friend and her financial stability. You see, Dad left us without a will.
His fatal fall from a ladder at their home on March 13th has left my mother in a very difficult situation. He didn’t have life insurance, pension, or any income that would be transferable to her; his Social Security benefits are transferred to her, but the amount is minimal and she won’t begin to receive them for several weeks, and he had incurred a significant amount of debt that she is now liable for. To top it all off, because he died without a will, Texas Probate law requires that the entire estate administered by the court system. Mom cannot legally sell anything to raise funds until the estate is out of Probate.
The high cost of funeral services, the cost of hiring an Attorney to get the estate through Probate and the debt that my father had incurred trying to keep it all together has left Mom with an enormous financial responsibility with very little to pay it with.

It has come to the point that, despite pride and embarrassment, we need help from our community.
We have started this Go Fund Me account to ease the financial burden Larry’s death has caused. This will enable Mom to grieve without the added worry of possibly losing her home and car and be able to concentrate on healing from this unexpected loss.
From the bottom of our hearts we humbly ask that you share this link with friends and family and if possible in giving (any amount will help).
We thank you for your support and God bless each and every one of you!!
