In Linda's own words:  "I had life saving major surgery on 5/9 to remove part of my intestine.  It was being choked out by scar tissue and was very infected.  I needed a temporary ostomy bag and I will need follow up surgery to reverse the ostomy. 

The surgeon is willing to work with me and the cost for the surgery is being discounted by the surgeon from $8500 to about $2465.  The total cost for both procedures is about $4800 and I must make payments on schedule in order to be able to proceed.  

Like many of you, I am struggling.  I have no insurance.  I've been in hospital five times in the last year for a variety of health concerns including kidney and lung.  I'm overwhelmed.  I am working on any type of assistance that might be available to me, but I have so far qualified for assistance with oral medication and some blood work through a local non-profit.  

Continual infection is making healing a slow process.  Surgery has caused some impairment, not allowing for activities of daily life to be completed.   Any assistance would be greatly appreciated."
