Most people who read this will already know how obsessed I am with my little nugget Ms. Penny Lane. I've been her proud Mother since she was 4 months old. She is now a 3 year old Pug who enjoys stealing socks and thinking she's the boss of the house (She kind of is). Since I've had her, I've known how difficult it is for her to breathe. I've been using a Nebulizer Machine on her at least once a week since she was a puppy, to help with her breathing. About 3 months ago, I grew concerned with the way she was sounding, so I took her to see a special surgeon to get to the root of the issue. The surgeon had informed me that a procedure was done for her breathing before I had her. It's called Stenotic Nares Surgery, which widens her nares. So he recommended I see a board certified surgeon to have another serious procedure done. I was in the process of moving at the time, and then the pandemic happened so I was unable to see a surgeon who was available. For the time being, she was prescribed steroids and antibiotics. This past week, I really started to notice how her breathing worsened even with the medications, and how her personality was changing. She became very anxious and could no longer breathe with her mouth closed, constantly panting. So, I took her to a Veterinary Hospital and was told she has a condition called Brachycephalic Syndrome, and if it isn't treated right away, she will go into respiratory distress and further increase her heart rate which quickly leads to a life-threating situation. He recommended I see the nearest surgeon who does the operation she needs and have the procedure done no later than this week. Her surgery is scheduled for this upcoming Thursday and I'm not able to come up with the full amount. Penny and I appreciate and are very grateful to anyone who can donate. Thank You
