On Thursday, 5/25/17, Anne was in a horrible head on collision while on her way to work. She had to be cut out from her car because it was so mangled.
Both of her legs are broken, and her left arm. So far she has had two surgeries but still has one more left. This last one will be the most intense because her left leg "is still pretty jacked up" [her dad's words]. The knee in that leg took a real hard hit, and the PCL - posterior crucial ligament - is completely blown out. The Doctor says she will have to wear some exoskeleton apparatus on that knee to compensate for the missing PCL until the knee gets back up to snuff. Then, they will work on rebuilding the PCL.
She is in great care at Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital, and expects to be there at least till the end of this week. After that, Anne still has a long recovery road ahead of her. The doctors estimate her recovery to be at around 6 months, including countless physical therapy appointments.
It's unknown of how much everything will cost at this point but medical bills are mounting with CT scans, multiple surgeries, surgeon and anesthesia fees, and physical theraphy. I know Joel, Mariko, and Anne would be so appreciative of any help they could receive. They are extremely thankful for everyone's thoughts and prayers!
