Support Amy's Battle Against Stage 4 Cancer
Donation protected
My mother, Amy, was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer called Leiomyosarcoma. She had surgery December 2nd to remove a 13.5 cm tumor located in her lower left abdominal cavity with a partial bowel resection. The surgery was a success. We celebrated. Since that time, her first post-op CT scan showed lesions in her liver. After spending days at the Ronald McDonald House in Portland, and countless tests, often painful, it has been proven the cancer is back and is attacking her liver. Cancer is now stage 4.
She will begin Chemotherapy on Friday, March 7th. It will be a combination of drugs that will last a minimum of 6 months. At this time, the money my mom saved for her December surgery is almost gone. She moved to the coast to be close to family who can care for her as she has to travel 5 hours round trip to OHSU in Portland for cancer treatments and doctor visits. My mother has a home in Southern Oregon that requires payments. In addition, she needs medication that is not covered by her insurance. Any financial help will go towards uninsured medication, travel expenses to OHSU from the coast, groceries, and other unexpected expenses. My mom, who is a nurse and has spent years caring for others, was taught not to ask for help and to always work for what she needs. However, at this time my mom needs help herself. Anything you can give is a blessing. Sharing her GoFundMe is a blessing as well.
Our family thanks you in advance for supporting our mother.
