Alaina’s medical journey
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Tanya. As many of you know I had my little Alaina Grace on 11/3/23 and she’s been a fighter since in the womb. During an anatomy scan while pregnant I found out Alaina would be born with an encephalocele and drs didn’t have much hope for her but we never gave up and wanted to give her the chance she deserves. She was at CHOC and the neuro team there pretty much said take her home and let nature take it’s course which wasn’t an option for us since she didn’t need any intervention and has been stable since birth. With that being said I got second opinions from many other hospitals in which agreed to proceed to help Alaina, one of which being CHLA, so we had her transferred and she had her first surgery 11/28 for a vp shunt, 12/5/23 she had her encephalocele repair surgery and 12/29/23 she had a gtube placed for feedings.
Its been a very hard journey to navigate considering I do have other kids and Erick being our sole provider so all the extra gas to get to and from the hospital since the hospital is 2 hours away, along with bills piling up, food for the kids at home and the list goes on. I hate even making this go fund me but I have been encouraged by many people to start one. Thank you for reading and please continue to pray for us.
