Open Heart Surgery for Grandpa

Hi everyone. I’m organizing this fundraiser to help pay for my grandpa Han Tek’s open heart surgery. He is currently confined in the hospital in critical condition due to multiple blockages in his heart and valve failure. 

My grandpa is 83 years old and lives in the oldest Chinatown of the world located in Manila, Philippines. He used to be a soccer player during his prime and he would fly to Taiwan, China, and Hong Kong to compete in regional games. After he retired, he voluntarily took on the role of taking me and my sister to school everyday. Those are my fondest memories with him. He would buy me snacks after school even though he knows he would get in trouble with my grandma as I won’t have an appetite for dinner. Thanks to his friendly nature, everyone in Chinatown and our school vicinity know him as the neighborhood “Kong Kong”(grandfather in Chinese). He is so simple, easygoing and likeable. I’m certain that if you ever have a chance to meet him, you will definitely enjoy his company as well. We recognize that an open heart surgery at his age is risky, but we would do anything to spend more time with our beloved Kong Kong. 

This fund will be used for surgery, post-surgery care and medicine.
