To all who knew him, Max was a happy man, always with a story or a great joke. He had a few choice phrases that we all came to know and love. He was a great cook and storyteller and the ladies always loved him.
Some of his favorites were him saying "Hemingway" for anyway, "Mow de lawn as the French would say", "Sup!" and talking about his pies that he would make and be so proud of.
He was also a caretaker for his daughter Kari who lived with him in CLarksville, TN. We are trying to get her set up in Illinois with her sister Stephanie as well. It's an arduous process and we have no idea where to turn next but have appreciated the help we have received so far from their doctors here in Tennessee.
Sadly he passed on Saturday November 30, 2019 after a catastrophic fall and subsequently a stroke two days after. We are all reeling from this horrific event and are trying appease his wishes to get his body back to Iowa and be buried with his family. We are needing a bit of extra help as he did not plan on any of this and we are doing all we can to finalize the process for a graveside service as well.
Please help us help him and tell us your favorite memory of our Daddio. We loved him dearly and are hoping to bury him as he wished. Thank you to each and every one of you for your help.
As Dad would say, "Good show!"
