I can't believe I am updating this once again!  I have been to Honduras twice, Mexico, and last November I added Haiti to the list.  

This July I am not only going back to Monterrey, Mexico, but I am going back with my 22 year old son Alex by my side.  He is finishing is final year at Davidson College and this may be a once in a lifetime opportunity for us to share together.  

God is so good.

In 2012 I was bitten by the missions bug after going to Honduras with my church.  Because of the blessings of so many friends, family and even strangers, I was able to return to Honduras in the fall of 2013.

I contemplated going back there this year, until I heard about Back2Back Ministries and a trip my church is taking there in July. Located in Monterrey, Mexico, Back2Back's main focus is on the children and in particular, the orphanges they support.  From the Back2Back website:

"We serve ten children's homes and three impoverished communities. We also provide educational opportunities and scholarships to children through the Hope Education Program."

I am very excited to go there, but once again I am not in a financial position to fund it all on my own.  Last year I had a struggle in asking people for donations, but this year I do not. Why?  Because I learned that the blessings are not solely bestowed upon the people who actually GO on the trip ... they are poured out to those who GAVE and who PRAYED too! Without mission "senders" there would be no "goers".

If you feel led to donate, I can't tell you how much I appreciate it.  If you are not able to donate financially - would you commit to prayer?  Specifically for the group from Journey Christian Church that is going on the trip.  I am particularly excited as I invited one of the teenage girls from my youth group (she just turned 14) and not only is she going, but she is bringing her mom. So, LOTS of prayers are needed for the entire trip.

Thank you once again ... and if you donated last year, I WILL do a better job THIS year at getting some pictures to you!!!
