Little Messiah's Mission

Hello there,

We want to share the story of our little wonder boy, Messiah Hashan Bussey, with you! He is an incredibly handsome young man with a bubbly personality, exceptionally strong muscles, smooth moves, and an amazing smile that causes even strangers to take a second look!

When Messiah was only nine months old, he was taken to the doctor's office one morning for his routine well-baby checkup. Little did our family know that by early afternoon, our baby and our family's lives would never be the same! During his visit, Messiah had several routine tests in which his blood was drawn to check for lead poisoning and other anomalies that are specific to children in his age group. That afternoon, his physician called to notify his parents that the results of the bloodwork revealed that he may have a form of leukemia, that we later discovered, was extremely rare. They were told to get him to the hospital emergency room immediately to either negate or confirm their suspicions that our baby did indeed have leukemia. While at the hospital and after a multiplicity of exams and bloodwork, our greatest fear was confirmed. The diagnosis was Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. His parents, grandparents, siblings, and extended family were all completely devastated!

Upon Messiah’s admission into the hospital, his parents immediately put a halt to everything in their lives and moved into the hospital to be with their precious baby son each moment. Except for arranging care for their school-age daughter, everything else came to a halt, including their jobs and every other facet of their lives. Unfortunately, without work, there was no income. Our family has faithfully tried to ease some of their financial burdens and responsibilities, however, the necessities and demands of life continued, and their rent, food, gas, car payments, and utilities became an increasingly heavy burden with each passing day.

Messiah was admitted to the hospital on October 22, 2022, where he remained for forty-four days and was discharged on December 4, 2022… in remission! We celebrated his release, but it was only a reprieve because the second phase of his treatment has now begun! Once again, this means fewer working days due to anticipated appointments and expected hospital stays, less income, more expenses, heartaches, and stress. We celebrated on December 4; however, we must readjust again to the stress of the financial constraints and challenges that his parents must soldier through. Our family is doing everything possible to remove these heavy burdens from their shoulders so that they can focus on Little Messiah’s medical care which includes dealing with the powerful side effects of the medications (which doctors tell us will be more potent, have greater side effects and could cause more damage to his little body), and keeping him as comfortable, happy, and carefree as possible. We are surrounding and saturating him with the love of God, Who is the Great and Ultimate Healer, and the love of his family!

Despite our best efforts, we are unable to provide the financial support required to keep this family afloat. Can you please help them?

We are asking our family, friends, colleagues, loved ones, and all who can donate to contribute to our Little Messiah “Pop Pop’s” GoFund Me request. We sincerely appreciate any amount. From our hearts to yours, thank you so much and God bless you!
