Help David James Rebuild His Life
About my friend David:
David James is a resilient soul who has endured significant loss. Recently, he tragically lost his beloved wife, Kerri, to cancer. Now, he faces the daunting prospect of being evicted from his rental home by March 30. David is a fighter, but he needs our collective support during this difficult time.
David was part of the original White Oak Semiconductor start-up team in 1997. After moving out of the 7th Street office, David worked 3rd-shift as Films process technician. During that time, he was my mentor and helped me learn the ropes. David became the first technician to “matriculate” through the Engineering Review Board and earn his way to an Engineering position. Later, he moved to the PLY team. David was the key organizer of the Qimonda golf league. After Qimonda’s closing, David moved to Phoenix and worked for NXP as a Defect Reduction Engineer until his health failed. In 2023, Kerri and David moved back to the Richmond, VA area to be closer to family.
The Struggle:
• Loss of Kerri: Losing Kerri has left a void in David’s heart. Their life together was filled with love, laughter, and shared dreams. Coping with her absence is a daily battle.
• Housing Crisis: With the eviction deadline looming, David is desperately moving his household goods to storage and seeking a new place to call home. The stress of uncertainty weighs heavily on him.
• Chronic Back Issues: David’s chronic back pain has prevented him from working in recent years. Medical bills and daily expenses have taken a toll on his financial stability.
• Buster the Cat: Buster needs temporary accommodations until David’s situation is stabilized
