My name is Terry Cook, and I am currently fighting cancer.

This journey has been overwhelming and painful, both physically and emotionally. I am doing everything I can to survive, but along with battling this disease, I have also been forced to fight my own medical insurance company. At times, I feel like I have been caught in a snare—trapped in a system that keeps saying no when I am simply trying to get the care I need to live. Critical medical tests that my doctors have requested have been denied, even after I submitted formal appeals. Unfortunately, their decision has not changed.

I have also been left without clear answers about my condition. I have not been given a clear diagnosis or stage of this disease, and I have serious concerns that my illness may have been overlooked, minimized, or not properly disclosed in order to avoid providing the treatment I urgently need.

I have only been given a partial surgery, and this type of treatment feels inhumane. I am suffering daily as I try to endure the pain and uncertainty without proper medical care.

I am now experiencing additional complications with my health, including a very low blood count, injury to my body that has further aggravated the disease, significant loss of weight and body mass, ongoing pain and suffering, as well as constant tiredness and weakness. What began as one battle has now become even more complex and urgent. The delays in care have caused my condition to worsen, increasing my physical pain, weakness, and emotional strain.

Because of these denials and delays, I am asking for assistance so that I may obtain the proper medical coverage I need and secure an attorney to review my current situation. I am seeking legal representation to address possible medical malpractice, negligence, unfair treatment, and serious concerns that my medical records and documents may have been falsified or altered.

Appointments with specialists critical to my cancer care

Legal fees for medical malpractice, negligence, insurance disputes, and review of altered medical records and documents

Being told “no” while enduring pain and watching my health decline has been a tremendous hardship. The constant stress of dealing with insurance companies and medical systems while fighting for my life has taken a serious toll on me and my family.
