My Mom's Cancer expenses

My name is Andromeda Gervásio and I am running this fundraiser for my mother, Ana Gervásio.

A few months ago she was diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer, she has now had a few procedures and surgeries and she is currently going through IV Chemotherapy, which is very hard on anyone's physical system as well as mental health.

My closer nucleus of family is myself, my older sister and my mother, and my partner (and my mom's cat: Freddy!). And then we count on the support of my aunties and a bunch of cousins! In Portuguese we would say: we are few, but we are good!

Due to the unexpected nature of this disease and our current dire financial situation I have turned to crowdfunding, hoping the people I have met throughout my life would have some money to part with, and share it through their own networks. I have set a goal of €1500 as an estimate, to deal with current debt, some rent, and bills. The more we can gather the better! And if we can't reach the target: anything will be very helpful in managing this struggle! As it would translate on further security to my mom's life quality, and by extent my sister's and my own.

My sister is a mother to a 1 year old baby and a Nurse, and has recently taken a second job again to try and deal with the increasingly hard financial situation in Portugal. Myself I am a freelance dance artists with currently no work prospects, and my mother is on sick leave, receiving very limited pay (VERY).

I have been able to be in Portugal to give emotional and some physical support to my mother but I don't know how much longer I can go without working, which means soon I have to resume my life abroad. If at least there would some financial stability, despite it not fixing everything, it would make such a wonderful positive difference.

O meu nome é Andromeda Gervásio e estou a gerir esta fundraiser para a minha mãe Ana Gervásio.

Ha alguns meses atras ela foi diagnosticada com Cancro dos Ovários, ela agora ja fez cirurgia e fez algumas intervenções e esta actualmente a fazer Quimioterapia intravenosa, que tem um efeito intenso tanto a nível de saúde física como mental.

O Núcleo da minha família é composto por mim mesme, a minha mãe, a minha irmã e minhe parceire (e gato da minha mãe: Freddy!). E depois contamo-mos com o suporte das minhas tias e primas! Como dizemos: Poucas mas boas! Devido à naturesa desta doença e a situação financeira actual eu resolvi começar esta angariação, com esperança que as pessoas que conheci atraves da minha vida tenham alguns trocos para partilhar, e compatilhar esta pagina nas suas redes. Eu pus um objectivo de €1500 como uma estimativa, para lidar com dividas, renda e contas. Quanto mais conseguirmos, melhor! E se não chegarmos a meta: qualquer quantia será altamente prestavel em lidar com esta situação. Pois significaria mais segurança e qualidade de vida para a minha, e também para a minha irmã e para mim.

A minha irmã é mãe de um bebe de 1 ano, Enfermeira, e recentemente começou um segundo trabalho (outra vez) para tentar lidar com a difícil situação financeira de Portugal. Eu trabalho como bailarine freelancer e actualmente sem qualquer trabalho em vista, a minha mãe esta de baixa mas recebi uma quantia bastante limitada (MUITO). Eu tenho estado estar em Portugal para dar apoio emocional e físico a minha mãe, mas eu nao sei quanto mais tempo eu conseguirei sem estar a trabalhar, significando que em breve tenho de continuar a minha vida no estrangeiro. Se houver alguma estabilidade financeira, apesar de não resolver tudo, seria uma ajuda tão maravilhosa e poderosa.
