Hi, my name is Lauren, and I will be walking over 7 miles on the 4th of January 2026 in order to raise funds for a planned charity event in April. The money raised will go towards funding our venue and additional costs we encounter. However, any extra funds raised will contribute to the profits for our charity event.

As part of my current degree in Events Management at Manchester Metropolitan University, we have been tasked with organising a charity event and are required to raise all the funds to ensure it is a success and maximise the profit generated for our chosen charity. My group’s chosen charity is Maggie’s, who provide care and support for those who have been affected by cancer. This is a cause that has personally touched each of us, and we deeply honour the hard work they do.

Therefore, although some people may think this is an easy walk, it will be a challenge for me, and I will be bringing my family along for moral support.
