Homeless and Disabled

Hello, my name is Toni and my family is in crisis -- homeless unless a miracle happens. I'm a physically disabled artist, a mom, and an Aunt. I live with my nephew and son who are both on the Autism Spectrum.

UPDATE!!! We are in our new home in Sacramento! Any funds we receive will help us pay our rent for the first month, moving costs, storage fees, beds, bed clothes, and clothes for myself and the kids. Once we get settled in, I can afford the rent with my current income!!! Thank you so much for your support!

The Whole Story

We all moved to Northern California from the the East Coast only a short while ago. We moved into a nice apartment near the facilities and treatment that my family needs, and we were happy.

Only two months after moving in the new owner of the apartment complex decided to reject the lease so they can make repairs - all of the repairs are minor. I believe he wants to raise the rent higher than he can because the person we moved in has been here three years.

We've had no luck finding another place to go. We've been working hard, trying with everything we have to prevent this.

Today, our landlord was able to have all of our evidence thrown out due to a technicality. The landlord called and threatened to have us thrown out in 3 days.

We have nowhere to go and very little money. We were able to get a storage unit and have a way to move most of our smaller stuff to it.

We are still trying to fight this, but I have to make sure my son and nephew have some stability if possible. They are both survivors of trauma and abuse as am I.
