I'd like to start with saying thank you. Thank you for being here. If you're reading this, its because you care.
Curtis was diagnosed with stage four colon cancer June of 2022. Since then, he has undergone multiple surgeries including bowel removal which lead to needing a colostomy bag. He went through sepsis and survived. There was also a port implanted near his heart so he could have the best success rate possible for the next step, chemotherapy. After he healed from his surgeries, he underwent three different types of chemo treatments, shrinking his cancer!
Unfortunately, his body could no longer handle the chemotherapy and he decided to stop. The picture you see is the two of them enjoying their trip to Colorado this summer. If you know my parents, you can't keep them still!
Curtis has had to make a lot of unpleasant compromises through his struggle with cancer. Including having to give up: his successful business, Thursday nights with the buds, motocross, pineapple and ham pizza, woodworking, and being the handy man of the house, just to name a few. Since his diagnosis, it has taken a significant toll on his health and finances. Leaving both Curtis and his wife Lori with undue extra stress.
They're making things work but I'd like to raise some extra money so they can relax and enjoy the time they can together more comfortably. There's no actual set goal. Anything helps and will go towards things like: air conditioning, pest control, rent, groceries, and the unfortunate but inevitable celebration of life gathering in the future.
Currently, his wife Lori is his full-time caregiver, spending every moment she can with him as his best friend and soulmate, while making sure he's taken care of and comfortable. Her work family is being extremely accommodating but the time away is creating a different stress.
The last thing they want is charity. However, we know his friends and family want to help in any way they can. I believe if we could lift some financial burden from them, it would help a great deal to make this time a little less stressful.
Anything helps, even sharing this story.
Thank you for reading,
-Their daughter,
