Our handsome boy Richard Dawkins was diagnosed with diabetes within 2 days. He went from a slightly high glucose level with very little appetite, to throwing up bile and concerningly high glucoses and ketones with the introduction of steroids to help with his irritable bowel disease. We brought him to the pet hospital, where they were unsure how he would respond to dripping insulin. Thankfully after giving him food via a feeding tube, regulated insulin, and restoring his hydration via IV, and spending 5 nights in the hospital, Richard made it on the other side. He's slowly eating more again, he has a scheduled insulin shot every 12hrs, and he's getting light exercise everyday.

Richard would have died had we not brought him in the pet hospital that day. As a result the vet bill came to over $10 000.

In the end, I know it was worth it, he has many years left to live. I know it's a large sum and I'm not expecting much return on it this fundraiser, but any amount would be most appreciated and every little bit helps.
