Help me pay my Medical bills

Hi my name is Bianca

My partner Nelson was involved in an awful random attack and is currently in a very bad way.

Nelson is one of many people in this country without health insurance and so we are trying to raise money to cover the extortionate bill that he will be receiving soon, plus also money to live, medication and to pay his rent as he will not be in a state to work for at least a month.

 

On Thursday night he was riding his bicycle over the manhattan bridge back to his house in Little Italy, when coming full speed downhill at the final stretch of the bridge, he biked into some purposely placed chicken wire and was suddenly thrown off his bike.

 

3 very awful men in balaclavas who were hiding, then came out and beat him badly while he was already bleeding on the ground.

Thankfully his adrenaline kicked in and he managed to fight them off, jump back on his bike and make it home with all his belongings.

All the while there was blood everywhere, his whole face had been totally beaten and his neck & wrists were badly hurt.

Even though he was badly hurt, he was insisting on not going to the hospital as he knew it would cost so much, but after passing out from the pain, he was then taken to the hospital by his amazing friends and given all the necessary treatment needed.

 

He came out with a subdural hematoma (a bad concussion/brain swelling), an awful sprained wrist, and ALOT of stitches in his mouth and on his face.

 

Nelson is a chef. Due to his injuries, he is going to need at least 3-4 weeks of recovery before he can return to work.

 

I really want to make sure this story is heard, as I amongst thousands of other Newyorkers bike daily. This could have been anyone. It wasn't targeted towards him but on a single biker riding across the bridge alone.

Please, everyone, be aware when biking alone and make sure to report anything that could help us get these fuckers.
