Owen’s recovery fund

Hi, my name is Owen Newton. I’m a local to Jackson Hole Wyoming and I have a passion for adventure in the mountains. Throughout the summer I had been working hard on my speed flying and paragliding and have completely found my love and passion for a sport. On November 21st I was speed flying on Snow King and I took a pretty bad crash and had to be short hauled via helicopter off the mountain. I am very lucky to be alive and functioning as well as I am.

My injuries are mainly lower body injuries, my left knee did a full dislocation and I tore my ACL, MCL, PCL all in the highest grade. On my right knee I tore my ACL. My first surgery date is the 21st of December and this will be on my left knee, 6 weeks later we will do surgery on my right knee and both should heal in a similar time frame.

This injury was unexpected and something I was not mentally or financially prepared for. I’m creating this go fund me to help with my month to month bills while I’m injured as well as medical expenses. Speed flying is a dangerous sport and I should have been more prepared and ready for something like this. I feel incredibly irresponsible but am learning many life lessons through this mistake. I’d greatly appreciate any form of support and I appreciate the support I’ve already received.
