Please keep my dear friend Michelle in your thoughts and prayers.

Michelle has been my best friend and confidant since college, and she now faces one of the toughest battles of her life. She was recently diagnosed with colon cancer and will be undergoing surgery next week. At this point, we don’t yet know how advanced the cancer is—her doctors will first remove part of her colon, then determine if it has spread to the lymph nodes and whether chemotherapy will be necessary.

What I do know is this: Michelle is a fighter, but no one should have to fight cancer and carry the heavy burden of financial stress at the same time. She and her son, Chase, need to be able to focus on her healing and recovery, not on bills or the fear of missing work.
