UPDATE 4/12/23
My vet recommended an alternative procedure because she’s so fragile but hardly any vets do it, I found one in West LA but it’s more costly, otherwise she has to do the one that has a greater chance at colon rupture and death
I need to raise another $2,000 by Friday because her procedure is going to cost $1928 (they gave me the estimation on the phone) on top of her consultation which is $2,097 on the high end.
I’m also accepting donations via Venmo too! - amyxvxcarla
Hi I never really ask for help and it’s weird for me to be doing this. In November I lost my job and have been on disability for a leg injury, so my funds have depleted. I’m recovering from surgery so this couldn’t have come at a worst time.
I was given a cat August 2021 because it was went to a vet for euthanizing, it was a feral cat that someone found. I was told there was “nothing” wrong with cat, and assumed it had IBS. The first thing I did when I got her is I promised her I would help her live an amazing life and would do everything I could to make that possible. I know that with special needs cats comes the cost, emergencies and the acceptance of death but GG is a fighter in the best way.
Fast forward to April 7, 2023 I took my cat GG to the vet I found out she has issues with her body causing her to not go the bathroom and it’s all built up. The vet put her on fluids and she is on meds and an iv for the next few days. She needs a megacolon which is a very invasive procedure considering she’s so small
She weighs 6 pounds, is literally a “bag of bones” and is the sweetest thing. The vet said her prognosis isn’t looking too good but she’s been doing amazing with the meds and I strongly believe and hope that the procedure will clear her out and will help her. She isn’t in a lot of pain so that’s great.
The cost is 1-1.6k but with vet check ups and meds it’ll be 2k. I’m hoping I can raise it because GG has such a great life ahead of her, she’s only 9-12years old and she’s never had a place to call home before I took her in. She fell in love with one of my cats and is a bonded pair with her. She’s helped me through so much and I hope you can find it in your heart to help her. I’ve been adopting special needs cats since 2013 and I’ve never had an issue like this before.
