In middle school I found my love for music. I picked up a trombone and I found my niche. I played in school bands, jazz bands, and marching band. I have taught myself various instruments over the years, piano, trumpet, guitar etc. I went into college with an eye toward music and teaching music to young minds.
Now I am trying to work, save money and go to school. I encounter problems at work every day. Hearing customers is sometimes impossible. My love and passion for music remains strong but is a challenge with my progressing hearing loss. I am under my parents insurance and while I am lucky to be covered their insurance policy deems hearing aid as "not medically necessary" and "not necessary for quality of life". I am one of eight children in my parents home and as much as they try and would like to, they cannot afford to buy my hearing aids. I have a profound hearing loss in one ear and a slight (also progressing) loss in my "good" ear. I am seeking funding to get hearing aids. I want to pursue my dreams and I want to continue to have music in my life. One day I even want to go overseas to Japan to teach. Getting a set of hearing aids would GREATLY improve my quality of life and help me pursue my dreams. Please consider funding me, and my dreams.
