Pohto Family in Need
Donation protected
Dear friends,
As many of you already know, my close friends in the Pohto family were struck by tragedy November 29th when a car accident claimed the lives of Viola (grandmother) and Linda (mother,) and left Eric hospitalized with severe injuries. Eric, Linda, and Viola were driving home to Fairport Harbor Ohio from Chicago. They had just returned from a trip to Finland where they scattered the cremains of their father, Fred, who lost his battle to cancer in December of 2013.
The Pohtos served on numerous committees in the Lake County area and throughout Ohio that support children and education. They were active members of Zion Lutheran Church of Fairport Harbor Property Committee, church council, Zion's social ministry, youth group, Sunday School, Vacation Bible School and Fred was a founding member of the Zion Praise Team. They dedicated their lives to serving the community in many capacities, including serving as Fairport Harbor and Auburn Career Center school board members. They were also members of the Finnish Heritage Museum, Fairport Harbor Historical Society, Fairport Lions Club, and Fairport Harbor School Boosters.
This family has been a huge part of the community for three generations and now they need our help. Eric is expected to make a full recovery, however, he works as a private contractor and does not have health insurance, and the severity of his injuries will leave him out of work for a period of time. At this time of insurmountable grief, the family is plagued with the financial ramification of such events. I know there are a lot of people who were asking for ways to help. Our mission is to ease financial hardship placed on Eric and his sister, Jessica, by this tragedy. Your donation will go directly to the family to be used for medical costs and funeral arrangements.

Please help in any way you can. Thank you all so much!
-Patrick
