Hi Friends and family,
Today we went to labor and delivery to be induced for a baby. I'm still shocked at what has happened today. Heidi experienced a very rare complication called amniotic embolus which means that the amniotic fluid mixed with her blood and it put her into cardiac arrest. She was rushed to the OR and baby was taken out via c-section while they were performing CPR and resuscitating Heidi. Our baby Matilda Robinson was flown via life-flight to Utah Valley Hospital. Heidi was flown via life-flight to Intermountain Medical Center. Matilda has been stable thus far, she is intubated, and they're going to give her a few days to test for any neurological issues. They feel very optimistic about this. Heidi is also stable thus far after a significant amount of bleeding because she is in DIC. The efforts by the medical staff at all these hospitals has been enormous to say the least. Heidi is not responding as well as they would like, so they're going to decrease her body temperature and let her rest. I'm worried that my sweet Heidi may not be the same Heidi anymore because they are not as optimistic for her. She may have permanent cognitive issues at the minimum. I have so many things running through my mind I don't even know how to function right now. I'm an absolute mess. I'm very unsure of our situation at this moment. If you could send thoughts, prayers, vibes or anything our way I would appreciate it so much. Heidi would appreciate it.
